Zachary L. Nathanson joined Belkin · Burden · Goldman, LLP in 2022 and practices in the firm’s Administrative Law Department.
Mr. Nathanson represents developers of 421-a new construction and property owners of rent-regulated housing. He also represents sellers, buyers and lenders in connection with rent regulatory due diligence issues and affordable housing issues. Mr. Nathanson is involved with applications and compliance for real estate tax exemption and abatement programs, including Affordable New York, 421-a, the Industrial Commercial Abatement Program (ICAP), J-51, 420-a and 420-c.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Nathanson managed applications and compliance for tax exemption and abatement programs for hundreds of properties with the New York City Department of Finance (DOF), New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) and the New York City Department of Small Business Services (DSBS). He also represented clients drafting tax incentive language in condominium declarations, and assisted in tax certiorari hearings.
