Camila Almeida is an Associate in the Firm’s Tax Exemptions and Zoning Incentives Department, representing developers in securing zoning bonuses under the Universal Affordability Preference (UAP) Program and the Voluntary Inclusionary Housing Program that UAP replaced, and in meeting the affordability requirements under the Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) Program. Camila also assists in obtaining tax exemptions for struggling buildings under Article XI of the Private Housing Finance Law.
Camila also has experience handling a wide range of real estate transactions, including financing of real property, sales and acquisitions, commercial leases, and license and access agreements between neighboring property owners in connection with demolition, excavation, and construction projects.
Prior to joining Belkin Burden Goldman, LLP, Camila was an associate at a boutique real estate law firm in New York City, where she focused on inclusionary housing and transactional matters. Earlier in her career, she worked at a boutique commercial real estate firm in Westchester, representing clients in acquisitions, financing, construction, and leasing.
