Under New York Senate Bill Number S1780C and effective June 20, 2022, licensed notaries will be able to perform notarial acts through a complete, electronic format, also referred to as Remote Online Notarization. This will afford greater convenience and accessibility for the real estate industry in general as it will permit individuals to complete certain notarizations remotely subject to requirements that the New York Secretary of State will create and adopt.
