About

John Walsh is an Associate in the Firm’s Construction Practice, where he advises clients on every stage of construction and development projects, from initial planning through completion and ongoing operations. John’s work spans drafting and negotiating design, engineering, consulting, and construction agreements; securing site protection and neighbor access rights; and managing construction close-out documentation. John also represents clients in resolving a wide range of construction and development disputes.

John brings extensive experience across diverse asset classes, including commercial office, hospitality, industrial, infrastructure, cultural, retail, life sciences, educational, and mixed-use projects. His portfolio ranges from small interior fit-outs to complex, neighborhood-defining multi-tower developments. He regularly oversees multi-year renovations of operating resorts and large-scale hospitality properties, including those subject to multi-phase property improvement plans (PIPs). John also assists with office buildouts for leased or owned spaces and advises high-net-worth individuals on the construction and renovation of single-family residences.

From inception to completion, John drafts and negotiates all agreements necessary to deliver successful projects and maintain real property assets. These include owner-contractor agreements, property management contracts, and agreements with design professionals, consultants, and maintenance providers. He counsels clients on disputes involving defective work, non-performance, payment claims, cost escalations, and project delays, and reviews lease and loan agreements for compliance.
