Belkin Burden Goldman, LLP (BBG) Welcomes Peter B. Kane as Partner in Litigation Department
New York, NY, January 12, 2026—BBG is pleased to announce that Peter B. Kane has joined the firm as a partner in its Litigation Department. Mr. Kane represents major owners, developers, and property managers in complex commercial and residential real estate disputes in New York Supreme Court and Housing Court. His practice includes high-stakes matters involving rent stabilization, deregulation, high-income deregulation, succession claims, and regulatory compliance across large building portfolios.
Mr. Kane regularly handles Yellowstone injunctions, access litigation, commercial lease enforcement actions, and emergency injunctive proceedings tied to time-sensitive development and ownership issues. As first-chair trial counsel, he has tried bench trials and evidentiary hearings and argued dispositive motions and appeals in state court. He manages all phases of litigation strategy from case inception through resolution, including pleadings, motion practice, discovery, depositions, settlement negotiations, and appellate briefing.
“Peter’s litigation acumen and appellate experience make him an exceptional addition to our team and an immediate asset to our clients,” said Jeffrey L. Goldman, Co-Managing Partner and Co-Chair of the Litigation Department. “His record in high-stakes disputes and his ability to drive strategy through trial and appeal align perfectly with BBG’s commitment to practical, results-oriented advocacy.”
Mr. Kane earned his BA from Tufts University and his JD from Fordham University School of Law. He has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2021.
