Partner David Shamshovich Named Tax Exemptions & Zoning Incentives Attorney of the Year at 2026 RED Commercial Awards

David Shamshovich, Partner and Co-Chair of BBG’s Tax Exemptions and Zoning Incentives practice, has been named Tax Exemptions & Zoning Incentives Attorney of the Year, with the award to be presented at the 2026 RED Commercial Awards.

David was recognized for his work advising developers, owners, and investors on zoning incentives and tax benefit strategies in New York City multifamily development, including affordable housing-related programs such as Universal Affordability Preference (UAP), Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH), 485-x, and 467-m. He helps clients identify the right programs for their projects, structure them effectively, and navigate the approvals needed to implement them.

The 2026 RED Commercial Awards celebrate leaders, dealmakers, and rising stars shaping the future of commercial real estate across brokerage, investment, lending, law, development, construction, and advisory.

A black-tie event honoring this year’s recipients will take place on Thursday, April 30, and will be hosted by Bob Knakal of BKREA.
