Kara Rakowski, Partner and Co-Chair of BBG’s Administrative Department, has been named to the 2025 Ones To Watch – Industry Leaders list by the New York Real Estate Journal (NYREJ) for her outstanding leadership achievements.
A member of BBG since 1991, Kara has extensive experience in representing property owners in rent regulation matters. Alongside her practice, Kara supervises fifteen attorneys and two legal assistants, and played a significant role in BBG’s recent hiring of five highly qualified attorneys to establish the Tax Exemptions and Zoning Incentives Department, positioning BBG as the go-to law firm for real estate developers seeking to maximize tax benefits and housing incentives.
A thought leader in her field, Kara regularly presents private seminars to clients and industry groups across New York City.
Kara serves as a legal advisor to the New York Apartment Association (NYAA) and The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY). She presents seminars at both organizations and advises their executive boards on housing, anti-discrimination, and rent regulation issues. Additionally, Kara teaches REBNY’s continuing education class on rent regulation.
