We are proud to announce that Kara I. Rakowski, Partner and Co-Chair of the Administrative Department, has been included on the 2023 Women in Commercial Real Estate Spotlight list by the New York Real Estate Journal for her outstanding professional and civic achievements.
Ms. Rakowski has been a valued member of our firm since 1991, having extensive experience in representing property owners in rent regulation matters. In the previous 18 months, she oversaw the due diligence team for the most significant acquisition of a multifamily housing portfolio in Brooklyn, which resulted in the creation of hundreds of affordable housing units. On behalf of owners, she negotiated penalty-free agreements with the city addressing discrimination claims, which led to the placement of numerous voucher candidates in long-term housing. She also offers legal counsel to groups involved in the New York City real estate market, including the Real Estate Board of New York and Community Housing Improvement Program (CHIP).
