Ron Mandel is a Partner of the firm.
Mr. Mandel focuses on real estate development, with an emphasis on zoning and land use, purchase and sale of development rights (“air rights”), analysis of property development and outdoor advertising, environmental, building and fire codes enforcement, as well as landmarks regulation.
He has appeared frequently before the City’s land use agencies, including the Board of Standards and Appeals, City Planning Commission, Department of Buildings, Landmarks Preservation Commission, and other regulatory agencies on behalf of private developers, institutional clients, including religious and educational organizations, and licensed professionals.
Mr. Mandel also advises clients with property acquisitions and conveyances, including strategic assemblages involving easements, Inclusionary Housing and real property tax incentives to maximize development opportunities, leases, development rights transfers, and the negotiation of mixed-use condominium structures.
Prior to joining Belkin · Burden · Goldman, LLP, Mr. Mandel was associated with top-ranked New York City land use and government relations firms navigating clients through the City’s development challenges while maximizing the value of their property. Mr. Mandel has practical industry experience working in government, in the General Counsel’s Office of the New York City Department of Buildings, and in-house with a real estate development firm.
