Co-op and Condo Practice

BBG represents over 300 cooperatives and condominiums in the greater New York area.  We represent buildings of all sizes at some of the most prestigious addresses in New York City.  Our practice provides practical, economical and efficient service in all aspects of cooperative and condominium governance, and provides innovative and creative solutions to issues. In addition, BBG regularly handles boards’ commercial leasing, construction contracts and underlying mortgage financings.

BBG has a thriving condominium conversion practice.  Condo conversion (new construction) offering plans must be developed according to strict rules established by the Attorney General’s office.  The AG’s office must then review and approve the condo conversion plan, after weeks of back-and-forth negotiations.  Building owners need to be aware that New York State laws are in place to protect tenants, as much as or more so than any other state.

Careful steps need to be taken in the conversion process, and we walk our clients through those steps.  Adhering to the laws, regulations and tenant rights is vital to ensuring a successful offering.

Here at BBG, not only are we effective litigators and negotiators for our clients, we are also a trusted resource.
