Michael Nesheiwat is an Associate in the Firm’s Litigation Group, focusing on complex real estate litigation matters, particularly residential and commercial landlord-tenant disputes, and general business litigation, including contract claims. Mr. Nesheiwat has represented clients in various Supreme and Housing courts, successfully securing swift and favorable resolutions for clients.

In a relatively short period, Mr. Nesheiwat has advised on wide range of cases, including:

  • sophisticated eviction proceedings for residential and commercial properties;
  • plenary actions involving complex fact patterns;
  • non-payment and holdover proceedings;
  • business disputes and contract claims; and
  • HP proceedings, effectively addressing housing preservation and condition issues.

As a litigator, Mr. Nesheiwat is known for his aggressive approach, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to craft creative arguments that ensure quick and effective responses to legal challenges. These qualities have earned him recognition from Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for Real Estate Litigation in 2024.

Additionally, Mr. Nesheiwat has personal experience in purchasing, renovating, and selling properties throughout New York State, providing him with a unique perspective on the real estate process and allowing him to understand and anticipate his clients’ needs and expectations. This hands-on experience is invaluable in guiding his clients, ensuring effective communication and that their interests are well-represented and protected.

Mr. Nesheiwat earned his B.A. from Vassar College, receiving the Vassar Scholarship for his academic excellence. He then pursued a J.D. at Brooklyn Law School, graduating in 2020. While attending law school, Michael distinguished himself through numerous honors and awards, including The Order of Barristers, the Smiley & Smiley LLP Award for Excellence in Trial Skills, and a position as Notes Editor for the Brooklyn Journal of International Law. His commitment to excellence was further demonstrated through his active participation in the Moot Court Honor Society and his achievements in national trial competitions.

Fluent in English, Arabic and Spanish, he is uniquely positioned to serve a diverse client base, effectively bridging language barriers.
